Q1. Is there an entrance or participation fee for Go Green Kids?
No, the competition is absolutely free and there is no registration fee.
Q2. Is Go Green Kids open to everyone?No. it is only open for students aged 6-18 years.
Q3. I do not have a personal e-mail ID and/or Phone/ Mobile Number?You can use your parents e-mail ID and contact number for communication purposes.
Q4. I do not know how to use a computer. Can my parent(s) help me?Yes, your parent(s) can help fill in required details but questions should only be answered by you. For instance, parents can only help fill in the answers but they can only write the answer given by you.
Q5. I do not have computer access at home or in school. How can I participate in Go Green Kids?We encourage all students to participate online. However for students who do not have computer access, we will come to your schools according to your zone on assigned dates and distribute hardcopies of the question answer sheet. Q6. Is the test online or written?The test is both online and written. If you have internet access then you can take the test online or download the question answer sheet, complete it on your computer, and mail the completed sheet to ggkids@greenyatra.org. The test is also available on hardcopy (pen and paper format). Kindly keep visiting our website for latest updates and details.
Q7. How will I know that I have been selected for Round Two?Results would be announced and posted on www.greenyatra.org. Selected students would also be contacted through e-mail & telephone. The results are final and binding to all.
Q8. Are all questions compulsory?Yes, all questions are compulsory.
Q9. I do not know English. Can I still participate in Go Green Kids?Yes, absolutely. According to your zone and assigned dates, we will come to your schools and distribute hardcopies of the question answer sheet in regional languages to include students who do not know English. Kindly keep visiting our website for latest updates and details.
Q10. Where is the written test center located?The location of the written test center will be announced according to the results in the first phase online submissions. It will be located in your city or nearby.
Q11. What if I am not selected for the written exam list?Participation certificates will be awarded to all participants. You will also get a chance to attend our campaigns, talk shows, events, dramas and plays, site visits, workshops and online activity (includes blogs, website, online community, groups, and forums), where we will discuss various environmental issues like global warming, air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution, smoking, alternate energy sources, alternate transportation, green lifestyle, waste management, and aspire to a greener present and future. Most importantly is that you can adopt a Green lifestyle to inspire your parents, friends and elders and save Mother Nature; Become a Change maker, Be the Change, Bring the Change.
Q12. How will the selection format be structured?Based on the results of the online submissions, selected students would be called for a second round that consists of a written test. From the results of the written test, twenty-one children would be selected from each zone, and based on score percentile; one candidate would qualify for the National level competition round. The remaining twenty students would get scholarships and prizes in different categories as decided by the judging committee.
Q13. How will school win the prize?All four national winner students’ school will also win same amount of prize as each winner student. So kindly encourage your all students to participate in Go Green Kids.
Q14. What are the different prizes to be won by students and School?There are different prizes to be won at various levels. All participants will be awarded a Participation Certificate. All participants of the second round written test would be given a goody bag full of surprises.
The top 21 students from each zone would be given Scholarships and other prizes in different categories.
National Level Prizes are as follows:
- 1st Prize: INR 1,00,000/-
- 2nd Prize: INR 50,000/-
- 3rd Prize: INR 30,000/-
- 4th Prize: INR 20,000/-
Winner student’s school will also get same amount of prize money as mention above for each winner.
Q15. What are the covered subject matter topics (syllabus) for the test?All the participations will be tested on the following topics:
- Recycling
- Pollution: Air, Water, Land, and Noise
- Green lifestyle Ideas and daily green tips
- Environment
- Global Warming
- Water Conservation
- Rain water harvesting
- Natural Calamities
