CLEAN AND RENEWABLE ENERGY PROGRAMME

Clean and renewable energy solutions is an important programme of Green Yatra’s mission. Our focus is on both household solutions as well as community level solutions. Initially, we are focussing on ‘powering livelihood’ by enabling rural poor to access energy for improvements in their livelihoods both farm and non-farm sectors.

Our programme focuses on UN Sustainable Development Goals such as SDG-7: Clean and Affordable Energy; SDG-13: Climate Action; SDG-1: No Poverty; and SDG-2: Zero Hunger among others related economic development, climate change adaptation and mitigation.

We aim at facilitating energy access for the deprived communities for their development.

Our Projects:

Powering Farm Livelihood

The demand for renewable energy in rural farm sector is increasing gradually to improve livelihood and income of people. The solutions are available for all aspects of farm mechanisation. One of our focus is on solar water pumps to promote irrigation to enhance agricultural productivity and adaptation to climate change. The small and marginal farmers are able to cultivate vegetables and other crops in winter and summer months with significant reduction in irrigation costs.

Other Projects

Our other projects range from clean energy awareness among school children, home and street lighting for Gram Panchayats, clean cooking energy solutions and livelihood energy projects in different areas of India.

We are developing innovative business models and enterprises for promotion of renewable energy, community participation and sustainability of projects. We collaborate with various Institutions, Govt. and Corporates for implementation of the programme.
